Well, at least we try comfort ourselves by saying that. 

We do ask ourselves, who can be perfect. What is perfect ?

You can have the best laid plans, but can everything be perfect or full proof ? Mmmmmmmm…you can try. But you will surely have contingency plans and contingency plans, because you know that there is just no perfect plan, but you try your best to perfect it.

You try to make best of the imperfection.

I wanted to go watch sunrise, only to be risen to the fact the cloud had risen even earlier. I tried to make best with everything. 

The following was a tv ad on SG tv lately. It is quite long. 2 minutes. It is one of the few TV ads that really touched many. 

so one day, you might find yourself, a life partner, who is as beautifully imperfect…in the end… its these small things that you remembered…the little…. “imperfections”…that make them… perfect… for you….

The advert also reminds me of my father’s funeral. Especially the part when the part my brother delivered the eulogy for my dad. I will not have been able to do it. The emotions will be just overwhelming. 

I won’t say I planned for a long time to watch sunrise, it was quite random if you ask me. Last minute…..someone will say. I bought my tripod like an hour before heading to the Park. There is a mustafa centre which opens 24/7. Well, I can be quite random and last minute in this. 

And guess what, while nearing the place, it started to drizzle ! The weather forecast was late morning shower, why is it drizzling at 5.30am! Thankfully, it was a short one, and we headed to another location. 

We waited and waited, only to realise the cloud have risen early too! blocking of the sun.

Well, I snap a few shots here and there. It is not a perfect setting. It is my first time watching sunrise.

Sometimes, it is the imperfections that we remember, the imperfections that make things special, the imperfections that perfect us…….

My mum was preparing some gifts in conjunction with my church’s parent day celebration. She was trying to look for some appropriate quotes from the bible, poems, etc that will be written on the gift.

And I found one

Well, it is just a rant. Nothing much actually.

Moses. He took on an audacious task of bringing his people out of the control of Pharoh. Pharoh, with all the empire’s machinery at his disposal is not an easy opponent. Yet with the help of God, he prevailed against Pharoh. He successfully brought the his own people out of Egypt. 

He trusted and believed his God.

And sometimes, we feel we are like Moses, at least on the part that we have an audacious task ahead of us.

There can be miracles, when you believe. When you believe in God, there will be miracles. Hope maybe frail, but it is hard to kill as God will revive it. When you believe, you can achieve miracles with the help of God.

I did stumble on 1 resume this evening. Which I can dare say is the best. Maybe all of us can take some inspiration from it.

Meet Bob Williamson.  He recently sold his company for $75 million. That is his 9th business venture. While, he is very successful today, he was once written off by everyone.

His father works for the US Air Force. At age 17 he left home. He got involved in drugs, wanted by police and did time in jail. In a bid to raise money, he even sold blood for $7 a pint. What he was doing then doesn’t seems promising that he will one day be a millionaire.

It was like adding salt to an open wound, at the age of 24, Bob made with a serious accident which nearly killed him. He spent 3 months in the hospital. That proved to be his turning point of his life. 

During his stay at the hospital, he picked up the bible and began to read the New Testament and the Old Testament. He read it word for word. He soon found hope and found encouragement. He realised no matter how broken, how bad the situation, God is able to fix the problem, God can give us hope. He loves everyone more than what we can imagine. Bob accepted Christ as his personal saviour and began to repent. His life was truly transformed by God. 

I don’t believe in coincidence or luck. I believe in God. And if there is a lesson I learned from this, it is that God seems to show his strength and power through weakness. I think he picks the down-and -out on the purpose to demonstrate what is possible. But it isn’t an aha moment. He doesn’t just bless you and heap on the millions. Rather, God shows you the way and supplies the opportunities. Then it is up to set the goals. devise the strategy, and, most important, provide the man hours. That’s the way you get to lucky street.

But his road to success wasn’t a smooth one too. Bob faced struggles both on the personal and business front. Nevertheless, he constantly seek God’s Wisdom through prayer and reading the bible. He believed all challenges are meant to shape our character and all things happen for a special purpose in God.
